Phlebotomy Technician CPT 1

In order to work as a Phlebotomy in California, you will be required to pass licensing examination administered by the Department of Health Service in California.

 

120 Hours of Quality Instruction and Training

 

Completion of the 120 hour Diablo Medical Training (DMT) program for CPT 1 will enable students to sit for the National Exam and after passing can apply for the State of California phlebotomy license. The Diablo Medical Training Phlebotomy Program is accredited by the State of California Department of Health Services (DHS). 

This program consists of two parts: 40 hours of classroom didactic and practical training (over approximately 4 weeks); and an additional 80 hours of clinical externship, where externship assignment is subject to availability but generally less than 4 weeks.  Classroom instruction is at the Brentwood Campus, located at 929 Second Street, Suite 16, Brentwood, CA 94513. 

The clinical training for this program is available during the day. The subjects that will be covered are: The Health Care Setting, Quality Assurance and Legal Issues, Infection Control, Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Circulatory System, Blood Collection, Variables, Complications, Procedural Errors, Skin Punctures, Special Collections, Point of Care Testing, Arterial Puncture Produces, Non Blood Specimen, and Specimen Handling and Processing.   Didactic training covers both the Basic and Advanced  materials needed for the National Exam.

Successful graduates receive a Diablo Medical Training Certificate of Completion.

Students will find that the Diablo Medical Training tuition and course fees are highly competitive, among the lowest in the region
